This is what I call real life.
I live +/- 17,000 km away from home.
It took around 2 days 2 night to finally get here. in Brasil..
10 hours differences in time. 10 pm here, 7 am there.
First time living abroad and alone.
New friends, Brasileiros and others mostly coming from other Latin America countries.
Meet and make friend with Canadian, Colombian, Mexican, Argentine, Bolivian, Italian, Russian, Polish, Peru, Chile, Japan, etc.
New culture, different culture.
BIG differences
Culture shock (to be honest.. I still feel it)
New Food (but thanks god they eat rice also here :p)
Living in a Portuguese speaking environment, with really less people speaking English.
Living alone, but live in the same building with all 4, all boys, trainee mates!!
Start learning how to cook! yeay!
Flights to Indonesia are extremely expensive
and...no Indonesian in my city
Belo Horizonte, Vitoria, Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro, Buzios (some cities I have visited)
Working with my Portuguese laptop
Start learning Portuguese of course! Eu Falo pouco Portuguese
Parties! (They are partying a LOT here!)
Challenging work! really it is...in term of communication and the work itself.
Took buses everyday
Currently in Vitoria, I live like nearly 5 minutes to the beach
Language does matters
awesome beach, awesome parties, awesome people, nice friends.
Nice, small, not so crowded city and gonna move again after 6 months in Vitoria to I don't know where hehe
Expensive living cost compare to Jakarta, really it is :p
well... this is it...new world, new experiences, new friends, new life!
To be honest, It's been very very fun in Brasil!. but also challenging at the same time. Languange is different, culture is different, the way of working is different. everything is just different and in every differences that's where you learned, rite?. so still, wish me luck!!!
to people who are still wondering why I can be here...
I went to Brazil for working (my AIESEC Xchange experience!), I went into a program called management trainee program for a company named Vale, a mining company here. There are 20 people in this program. 16 Brazillians, 2 Canadian, 1 Colombian, and 1 Indonesian (it's me). We are working on Vale's overall strategy named VPS (Vale Production System)!
:):)
Beijos,
Lila
