This is Life!

This is what I call real life.

I live +/- 17,000 km away from home.

It took around 2 days 2 night to finally get here. in Brasil..

10 hours differences in time. 10 pm here, 7 am there.

First time living abroad and alone.

New friends, Brasileiros and others mostly coming from other Latin America countries.

Meet and make friend with Canadian, Colombian, Mexican, Argentine, Bolivian, Italian, Russian, Polish, Peru, Chile, Japan, etc.

New culture, different culture.

BIG differences

Culture shock (to be honest.. I still feel it)

New Food (but thanks god they eat rice also here :p)

Living in a Portuguese speaking environment, with really less people speaking English.

Living alone, but live in the same building with all 4, all boys, trainee mates!!

Start learning how to cook! yeay!

Flights to Indonesia are extremely expensive

and...no Indonesian in my city

Belo Horizonte, Vitoria, Ouro Preto, Rio de Janeiro, Buzios (some cities I have visited)

Working with my Portuguese laptop

Start learning Portuguese of course! Eu Falo pouco Portuguese

Parties! (They are partying a LOT here!)

Challenging work! really it is...in term of communication and the work itself.

Took buses everyday

Currently in Vitoria, I live like nearly 5 minutes to the beach

Language does matters

awesome beach, awesome parties, awesome people, nice friends.

Nice, small, not so crowded city and gonna move again after 6 months in Vitoria to I don't know where hehe

Expensive living cost compare to Jakarta, really it is :p

well... this is it...new world, new experiences, new friends, new life!

To be honest, It's been very very fun in Brasil!. but also challenging at the same time. Languange is different, culture is different, the way of working is different. everything is just different and in every differences that's where you learned, rite?. so still, wish me luck!!!

to people who are still wondering why I can be here...

I went to Brazil for working (my AIESEC Xchange experience!), I went into a program called management trainee program for a company named Vale, a mining company here. There are 20 people in this program. 16 Brazillians, 2 Canadian, 1 Colombian, and 1 Indonesian (it's me). We are working on Vale's overall strategy named VPS (Vale Production System)!

Leaving has never been easy

I have just realized that I didn't post anything during the month of July.

I guess July was really hectic for me. Since at this month I moved to Sorowako and need to finish all my work in Satoe Indonesia

It was actually a very sad and challenging moments I got in my life. Leaving has never been easy and I was totally missing Satoe Indonesia and Nureco as the neighbor office. I miss its people, it's office, the work, and of course the impact.

Although I am not there, I still feel that I am part of SI. I won't stop contributing :)

I do love my farewell dinner. It was fun and warm! Thank you everyone!!

Sorowako

Ok continuing the story of me getting in to a company named Vale.

Vale is one of the largest mining company in the world. They owns 60% of PT INCO (International Nickel Indonesia) shares in Indonesia. Before leaving to Brazil, I got an introduction of mining business and had a chance to visit their site in Sorawako.

Sorowako is located in the island of Sulawesi, and that was my first time for me to visit Sulawesi!. That was completely new world for me. a totally new experience. I have never imagined my life
working in mining companies before.

anyway Sorowako experience was incredible and challenging at the same time. I saw a nickel site and its process plant. It's like I was in different world haha :). I didn't understand the process at all at the first place( well, I am not an engineer :p) and most of the people there were boys. But overall, People are nice and the island is very beautiful.

Thank you for the opportunity dear God. another life changing experience I had though It's only a short visit :)

Chair eXPerience

I guess I really should make a new post before the month of May is ended.

a little story from my last visit to Surabaya for AIESEC Indonesia National Planning Conference... I got the opportunity to be a chair in the conference :p (first time experience being a chair..and a bit nervous actually :p)

I was able to meet the next generation of AIESEC Indonesia. Being with them for 7 days just made me recalling my AIESEC days couple years back... AIESEC Indonesia has been growing really fast!

Actually, I was so inspired by all of them. They can really show they are the true leaders of their LC and I can really say that they are totally smart with full of ideas!, they cannot stop discussing everything (as Chair, I am a bit stress to manage the discussion time, since they enjoy it so much hahaha:p)

I just hope one day, they can be the leaders of Indonesia.. I am gonna wait for that; AIESECers becoming Leaders in our beloved country (I hope I can be one too..Amien :))

just one sentence: I am really proud of AIESEC INDONESIA

Let's create more impact!,

3 cities in a month! and more....

I miss blogging already.

I have been traveling a lot lately.

The thing about travel around is you totally can feel new atmosphere and got lots of inspiration from it....

My first travel was visiting my hometown in Jogjakarta. I have planned it since I was still working for Danone. Well, excited to meet all my family back in Jogja, esp. eyang and my favorite cousin, Dek Gahar and of course, tasting some new food!

Luckily, my plan to go to Jogja was supported by all my friends. since Eja is having his work in this 'student' city, all my friends wanted to visit him!...so I left earlier on Wednesday..and they arrived after on Friday. so kinda had a 'genk' holiday HAHAHAHA.. went to eat a lot (since ayu was there, and she just couldn't stop eating lol). It's a trip from one restaurant to another restaurant. The thing I loved about Jogja is cheaaaaaaaapppppppppppp!. You can get a chocomelt with Ice cream only for 8,000 rupiah!

I went to Magelang on the weekends. We did some cool stuffs. I went to a very unique gallery unintended. This Gallery is all about Gus Dur. from paintings, statue, books and etc. That was kinda fun...I had pictures with those funny stuffs.

The hotel I stayed in is 4 thumbs up. Thanks for Om yoyok's family for taking me with them. The hotel has a supereb views of mountains and river. we did rafting! (getting darker :( )and also air soft gun. and not to forget that we ate the famous kupat tahu magelang!

Back to Jogja..and I was so excited because Om Yudi set me up for a meeting with a funder company. I had a presentation about Satoe Indonesia and its activities. I was targeting them to give funding for Satoe Indonesia. and that was kinda a start. So though my purpose is to have a holiday there, but it was also a bit productive for my work.

Back to Jakarta for only 1 day. Ria and Bale asked me to go to Bandung with them...it's for Satoe Indonesia meeting. wowww...so after that I directly went to Bandung. Had a tough meeting but really nice lah that I was getting to know more and more about Satoe Indonesia. Recalling days when I was in AIESEC, totally similar :). Loving those trip, because I got to know so many people and also their thoughts. SO HAPPY that i did really feel that I was together with same people in same passion for the same vision.

The trip wasn't finish there. Directly after Bandung, I went to Tasikmalaya. Wowww..never been there so I was really excited. We planned to see Tasik Culture and Craft festival. This festival was held by one of our friend, Farhan. He was totally a juragan of Tasik! haha...Spending 2 days in Tasik, we went to a very very beuatiful place. It was a 'perumahan' with a view of lake and mountain.. The next day we went shopping!! bought like A LOT A LOT of Batik and jilbab, and other things!.

I love travelling really!. I felt those 2 last trips was a bond for my team, me, Ria and Bale. Saw a lot of cool places and cool people. Different places, different people, different perspectives. I wish I could stay longer in each places.

Actually, I still have another story about my journey at the beginning of May. But keep the best for the last lah...will tell you all about it and show you some photos in my next post!

Life and its choices

Have you ever made a very important decision about your life?
Have you ever chose something that you don't know whether it's the best for you or not?
Have you ever need to choose between 2 difficult choices or maybe more?
Have you ever felt that you're not making the right decision?

yes that's life...you need to choose, decide, and make decisions...

and yes, I've just made a very important decision about my life

I am taking the risk..taking all the consequences..
I hope I am wise enough taking this decision:)

I can proudly said,
"I am ready for this decision and this is a choice I am making!"

wish me luck!

with smile,
Lila

Hey APRIL!

It's April

Remembering those days in school, when me and my friends always play the 'April Fools'. YES IT WAS SO FUN!

Ok! that's somehow a very random intro of my post. But the April Fools intro is somehow related to my ALSO VERY FUN BEGINNING OF APRIL this year. Not because of the April Fools of course hehe.

But the beginning of this month is somehow special. Starting something new. Getting to know 'the direct impact' I can contribute. and Implementing what I've learned from AIESEC "Leadership for Positive Impact to Society"
I can see the passion in my eyes. I can feel the excitement in my nerve.

I believe It will be an EXCITING Month!

WELCOMING APRIL!

Lesson and Learn

Ok. I want to admit that I am so weak at technology. I found it is confusing to pimp my blog and then forget to fill the content itself haha. Luckily, I realize it soon and start to write a post!

Anyway....Last week has been a very inspiring week for me

First..I finally created a blog!. I don't know why, how, and what purpose of this blog is. I just want to share my randomness of the day and share what I learned from those randomness each day.

Second..I went to visit a group of youth who volunteer to teach children around Bekasi on the weekends ,the lesson is mostly about Computer, English, or Math. Got a chance to meet so many inspiring children and inspiring "kakak" also. I guess I will come again next week! Thanks to Intan and Bagus who already let me join!

The third, I met Prasti and she shared stories how her life was in Netherlands! so interesting to know how to live a life alone in a completely different part of the world. I got a lot of insights.
and after that, continue the day with a very nice conversation with Yudi. From future talks to random talks. As usual, it drives me a lot. Even though he's younger than me but surely he totally inspires me.

The fourth, last week was a very critical point in my life when I finally figure out what I want to do in my life..I Invest a lot of time on this, I did even quit from my job only to really really sure about what my passion is. I might say It was a very hard moment when all people expected you more than you could ever imagine. But Thanks to dear Almighty, Allah S.W.T and best friends. I finally realize it..I am step by step trying to connect the dots of my DREAM.

The last one is actually not a good news but I do learn a lot from this one. my dad's best friend since middle school, Fetty passed away on Sunday. It was so sad since I've known Om Kahar since middle school. Suddenly I think...what if....and what should I do if.....
hmm "before you regret it, you better do something on it Lil"

I do feel It was a very packed week..I totally got lots of lessons to be learned

It scares me to death being Jobless without any activities but I completely happy I took this decision. I spent most of my days now trying to got more lessons to be learned each week.

But I do realize...Lesson and learn is not enough. One said to me "You got to DO it"

Spontaneous vs Random

Wohooo finally I have my own blog

as usual I am being so random.

I had a chat with Buddi tonight and after took a look at his blog , I decided to make my own blog. I think I will love it.....

Mostly in my life, my friends and my family know me as a very spontaneous person. I don't think that much, I don't plan that much. and somehow, it's kinda true.

2 weeks ago I even flew to KL without any plan, I booked a ticket at 1 pm and flew at 7.30 pm at the same day. I sometimes drive to Bandung alone in the middle of the night only because I feel bored. and that's true I can be anywhere I want without even knowing what will I do there.....

What I really can see now is there is a very close meaning between being random and being spontaneous. I don't know whether I am too spontaneous or too random? haha

Well, I don't really care.

So here it is a "spontaneous" blog of me. I should learn how these things operate now.
